SDG 3 :Good health and well being

Problem statement

Most of the young adults in the age group of 19-25 go through a phase of confusion, facing mostly unknown future. In addition, society and social media create more pressure. Thus, it may end with pressure affecting their mental health, up to anxiety and depression.

Expected Impact

Through building community, we aim at empowering young adults to step in real world, help them learn to speak about their struggles and reach out to people for help, but most importantly, train them to develop a mental immunity while facing life struggles, and keep their daily life more stable.

Facing anxiety or depression, a teenager usually doesn’t consult their parents on their feelings, or their friends, being afraid of criticism nay mockery. For this generation, turning to the internet is an easy solution and reflex: it is accessible from their phones or personal computers and preserves to some degree a level of privacy.

Mobile app  + Wearable sensors

One of the biggest challenges with anxiety and depression for teenagers is that their feelings can be described, but not identified and related to a specific reason. Hence, a wearable bio-sensor can help give more clarity to those feelings.

Chatbots and Merchandise

Very similar to bio-sensors + mobile app, with different ways of processing data and different output

We choose the app solution, making people meet together in an attractive environment. 

MINDSCAPE  is a Web App, it is available for phones and laptops.
 
Main Features:
 
Mood Tracker
 
Everyday, after logging in, a user can take few seconds to think about her/his feelings and also what is related to those emotions. Rating the mood takes in the intensity dimension.
In this way, our user can keep track on his emotions, either on a calendar or a chart. Thus, some feelings can be associated to some inputs (finance, exams, …), and then patterns can be proven based on data analysis.
 
Patient-to-Pateint Therapy
 
Patient-to-patient therapy relies basically on one healing narrative being provided the subject her/himself to others ‘patients’. MINDSCAPE provides a map of different places where users (BFF with Big Brothers and Sisters) can meet. Those meetings will be following our guidelines, in order to have some guidance and avoid parasite effects (some group effects can result in negative behavior on a patient), those guidelines are build with the help of professional medical therapist (adolescent psychiatrist and psychologist). 
In addition, we organize some events with our partners to raise awarness about well-beign or other subjects in order to animate and keep our community active.
A rating system will be established similar to the D.R.E.A.M.S. profile by BlaBlaCar insuring trust and confidence within the community.
The map also make it easier to spot therapist willing to help people or consult them in a very easy and interactive way.
 
Virtual Yard
 
This Virtual Yard is a solution for those who won’t be able to step in the real world from day 1 in their healing trip. 
It stimulates the patient-to-patient therapy without pushing a person out of its comfort zone for a beginning. 
In this Virtual Yard, a user will be able to talk to people and share music with them (TOP 2 activities by young adults going through depression, see Survey 1 and 2 results).
Also, we can provide our platform for game designers, mainly games with purpose (GWP).
