About the Project

The project is divided in three different parts.

The first one was to create our multi-function meter. After we had to work on the display. How will we make our message clear and easy to understand? Finally, we had to build the main body of our devices. During all these different steps, a lot of improvements have been made.

  1. Sensor for voltage measurement: AC Digital multi-function Meter

  • Our electrical network contains an electrical sensor, an Arduino card, a plug and a switchboard. We defined different ranges:  if your consumption is lower than the first range, the green LED will work. If you are between the first and the second ranges, the orange LED will work. After the second range, it will be the red LED.

  1. Display

After dealing with the coding part, we have to work on the display of our project. We already know that we will use LEDs and different colours for the display. Using colour to transmit a message is a simple means to make people understand faster and clearly our message.

  • We had removed the 3 LEDs. We wanted finally to use neopixel LED. Thanks to that, we are able to make all the LEDs light with the same colour and also control all the different colours. We had to change our code and rebuilt a new Arduino MEGA card.

  1. Main body
  • After the electrical part of the project, we had to build the main body of our device. For that, we created our panel thanks to the laser cutter and built a wood base. By adding the electrical part, we obtained our final product :
