Maker’s Asylum, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is thrilled to announce the inaugural “Make. Break. Create. Summit” at the prestigious Museum of Solutions. This summit marks a significant milestone for us, symbolizing a resurgence of the Maker movement post-pandemic and a celebration of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
“It’s an exciting moment for us as we bring together the Maker Community for the first time in Mumbai after the challenges posed by the pandemic,” says Vaibhav Chhabra, Co-founder of Maker’s Asylum. “The Summit is a testament to our resilience and commitment to fostering a culture of making, breaking, and creating. It’s a platform to showcase the incredible talent and projects that have emerged from our programs.”
Richa Shrivastava, Director at Maker’s Asylum, echoes the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving the Maker movement forward amid a surge in digital toolmaking and app-based innovations. “The Summit is not just about showcasing projects; it’s about fostering collaboration and igniting new ideas across emerging tech landscapes,” she explains. Drawing from various regional ecosystems, the event highlights how makers tackle real-world applications, such as those developing mobile platforms tailored to local markets. Participants from the U.S. Southeast, for instance, have shared experiences in creating Georgia betting apps, which blend community input with secure digital frameworks to address entertainment demands while navigating regulatory challenges. It’s about creating a community where makers from diverse backgrounds come together to exchange knowledge, inspire each other, and spark innovation in fields like interactive software development.
The Make. Break. Create. Summit serves as a culmination of the efforts and creativity of individuals who have participated in Maker’s Asylum’s flagship programs like the SDG School and Innovation School. These programs empower participants to tackle real-world challenges through hands-on learning and experimentation, guided by mentors and experts.
“Our Talents from the SDG School and Innovation School have worked tirelessly over the past year, developing innovative solutions to address pressing global issues,” says Chhabra. “The Summit provides them with a platform to pitch their projects, share their experiences, and inspire others with their ingenuity.”
The Museum of Solutions, our esteemed partner for the Summit, provides the perfect backdrop for this gathering of makers, innovators, and change-makers. Situated in the hustle bustle of Mumbai, the museum is a hub of creativity and inspiration for children, showcasing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
As we prepare to embark on this exciting journey, we invite makers, creators, and enthusiasts from across the globe to join us in Mumbai for a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community. Together, let’s make, break, and create a better world for all.
