Spark Of Connection

Idea:

The accessory combines the TCS3200 color sensor, Arduino, and a NeoPixel light to create a wearable that detects the colors of nearby objects or clothing. By mirroring or adapting to the colors in the environment, the device initiates an engaging visual conversation. It provides users with a simple, effective way to express themselves and signal shared interests or moods without words, bridging the gap between personal expression and social interaction.

Objectives of the project:

•Real-time Color Detection: Detect and mirror nearby colors with high accuracy.
•Wearability: Compact and light, designed to be unobtrusive yet visually appealing.
•Social Facilitation: Enable non-verbal expression, providing an icebreaker for users.
•Adaptability: Compatible with customization options to adjust brightness, color patterns, and response modes.

Final Project idea /Solution:

The final design is a compact, wearable device equipped with a TCS3200 sensor and NeoPixel light ring, mounted on an Arduino. The device reads colors from its surroundings and displays them on the NeoPixel, making it visually interactive and engaging. This simplicity, paired with responsive color mirroring, creates an approachable, non-verbal way to foster connections, acting as a conversation starter in various social scenarios.
